There’s no danger greater than falling for your enemy…

The Nephilim are bound. Their powers cursed. But half-angel Kasdeja will do anything to free them from Heaven’s tyranny. When Kas is approached by a striking, mysterious woman, she tells him his greatest enemies hold the key to his freedom.

Mariel keeps herself shrouded in secrets, using them to hide her true self. For she is not just employed by the Renegades–enemy fallen angels—she is a double agent, working on the sly for Heaven. Her directive is to seduce the gorgeous Nephilim—despite her insecurity about such sensual acts.

For Mariel is playing a dangerous game, and falling for Kas could only cause trouble; her assignment isn’t just seduction. It’s destruction.

Geeks In High School Tricia Skinner has a new book out today! Happy book birthday, Tricia! :) I one clicked and stayed up late into the night to devour this book.

ANGEL LOVER is the third book in the Angel Assassins series. ANGEL BAIT and ANGEL KIN were of course excellent additions, but each book can be read as a stand-alone. I would encourage you to read all books in the series because they are simply delicious romance, and would enrich the overall appreciation of the series.

Now back to Angel Lover. I anticipated this book since I read the last in the series and Angel Lover did not disappoint. Kasdeja is one of the Bound ones, a half-angel who wants to free himself and his ‘brothers’ from the tyranny of Heaven, and Mariel is a broken angel working with the Renegades to earn her wings back. From the moment Kass and Mariel met, the sensual awareness sizzled between them and leaped off the pages. Their chemistry was undeniable, and their relationship was wonderfully built, drawing me into the emotions and need oscillating between them. I was caught up in their romance, being right there with them, eagerly awaiting each kiss, and touch as if I were they. I loved that. How invested and involved I got with the characters, so much so that their journey became mine. The sex scenes were also hawt and tastefully done.

Mariel was a great character. I enjoyed her strength and her overall bad a$$ nature. I thought her a very complex and wonderfully drawn character with her secrets, past pain and future hope. Kasdeja was this alpha geek, tech savvy Nephilim of the group, (there is no better combination) who was driven to do all he can to save his family. He was honorable, charming and sexy as hell, and the way he cared for Mariel was sweet, believable and captivating. I loved him. I loved them both…as individuals they enticed me to see how they would do together, and when they did come together, I was enthralled to see their relationship develop.

I am a lover of all things paranormal, and I do not enjoy when the plot overtakes the romance. I prefer when there is a perfect balance of action, and sizzling romance, and I was treated to that with Angel Lover. I got some really kick a$$ scenes from both Mariel and Kass, which thrilled me. The fights scenes were vivid and descriptive, and heart pounding good. The pacing was steady, and the build up to the end was well executed.

Overall this is a solid addition to the series, and I highly recommend it to lovers of paranormal romance.
